Jaya Matha Province, Palai
Even though Pala was destined to house the second CMC convent in 1888 at Mutholy, Jaya Matha Province traces its origin to the bifurcation of the diocese of Changanacherry and the erection of the diocese of Pala in 1950. Convents with in the territory of the new diocese were brought under a unit on 8th April 1952. There were 12 convents and 200 members for the new diocesan unit. And the convent at Mutholy was accepted as the head quarters. Sr. Martha Kaithakkari was the first Superior General. The present provincial house at Pala was established in 1957 and the Novitiate house, Karoor were established in 1958. Jayamatha could put the seed of C.M.C. in Malabar in 1956.
